Hi dithedancer
I listed our caravan for sale yesterday, and have received almost identical e-mails to yours today, only difference is the name of the person, definitely a scam.

Tell them you will only accept cash via Western Union. Or better still, get their "mover" to give you the cash on pick up.

This isnt a scam, this guy tried to buy my car in the same way when i sold on autotrader last year!!!
It really is a scam, walk away...0 -
Hi, I've had the exact same emails as you from Smith Hook and Jeffrey Lawrence it is definately a scam but it is funny saying that you've had a better offer they increase theirs. May aswell have a laugh at them as they are us in the internet cafes!!! I have reported it to justgoodcars.com which is where they saw my V5 Golf for sale.

I only use AutoTrader, and just ignore these halfwits.
Though sometimes I have specifically not advertised online atall, just in the printed magazine, not sure if you can still do this though.
Recently put a car for sale (only on autotrader) and must have got 15 or 16 of these emails.0 -
My partner just recieved an identical email after advertising a car on justgoodcars.com. The scammer was almost demanding that we send Paypal details, address details etc! I'm going to report this joker to the admin at justgoodcars, lets see what happens!0

I made the mistake of offering my junk e=mail address on Autotrader. I had loads of these. Best just use the phone.Je suis sabot...0

It's the "can only use PayPal" that sets alarm bells ringing. PayPal can reverse payments. Even if you've withdrawn the money, they can chase you for it.
I'd never complete a high value transaction with somebody I've never met in person. I'd only consider cash or banker's draft.0
