Ryanair and free pushchair - is frame and car seat acceptable

Hi,
We have just bought tickets to travel with Ryanair and would like to know if anyone traveled with them recently and was allowed a frame and car seat free of charge to take up to the plane (as the free allowed pushchair)? We have a 6 weeks old baby (will be 5 months when we will be traveling) and would like to make sure that we make all the arrangements before we travel. As the cost is important, we would like to make sure that we explore all possibilities.
Any advice or feedback very welcome.
Many thanks in advance.

When you get to the desk they ask if your pushchair is one or two pieces then just give you the stickers for it to take up to the plane.Make £11,000 in 2011 challenge - £120/£11,0000

I would say that as long as the frame and car seat you describe behaves together as a pushchair and can be folded somewhat as a single unit then it would be accepted (indeed dtaylor seems to be on the ball with the double-unit nature of your type of pushchair).
However, I am not sure what you mean by a frame exactly unless it is indeed a pushchair frame ?
Ryanair makes a point of saying it is family frendly in allowing a free pushchair which can be pushed to and picked up from the aircraft steps but it has charges for other "infant equipment" as you have probably seen.
Edit: In particular I believe their charge for a travel cot is very reasonable bearing in mind that most do not actually weigh 20kg until you have stuffed them full of other surplus baggage to take fully advantage of Michael's family-friendliness :money:0 -
What I mean by a frame, is a part of the travel system. We have Hauck Infinity, that comes in 3 parts, pushchair, carry cot and car seat. Either of which you can clip to the frame. The frame folds, but even then it is a bit bulky.
Thank you all for your feedback. Has anyone actually taken one with them (like quiny buzz or similar)?0 -
I've not travelled personally with such equipment for nearly 15 years which predates Ryanair's pre-eminence, but I travel very frequently now with Ryanair and watch with interest the different shapes and sizes of the pushchairs at the bottom of the steps. It has occurred to me that some indeed don't fold so small at all, but be assured that once it gets that far, as long as it has the correct tags on it to identify it as yours then it will be put in the hold without you needing to hang around and lose your place in the queue up the steps to watch it happen.
With Ryanair's avowed intent to be family friendly (albeit minus free priority boarding
) I am sure you won't experience any problems with your Hauck Infinity going free if you leave the carry cot at home. If you take the carrycot as a (third) separate then I would anticipate being charged £10 per flight sector for it (pre-booked - £20 per sector if not) but if it has its own robust carry case you could perhaps stuff it with other essentials to make use of its 20kg allowance and check it in whilst you get your other two pieces tagged as a free pushchair.
If you've not seen them already, these two ryanair.com pages may help you be reassured:
This one -Can I bring infant equipment - car/booster seats/travel cots?
and last paragraph especially of this one -What is Ryanair's policy on the carriage of infants?0 -

We travelled with it all across Europe and never had an issue with Ryanair using it, on a couple of occasions where we on a very short trip we just used car seat onto the Bugaboo and again it was never an issue.0 -
wonderful, thanks very much0
