I agree with pizz and cips - lots of 4 yr olds don't like fancy stuff. Try and fid where he got the idea from so you knwo you understand what he means - quite an unusual choice.
Good luck - you could have battery candles?Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -
what a fantastic idea - love him!
Already had some great suggestions - how about making it a retro resturant and going round with the dessert trolley??
maybe some tiny table gift/ place settings instead of a party bag (if pennies will stretch to it)People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

I can not help thinking about the restaurants that do children's party's with balloons tied to the chairs and a picture to colour with crayons while they wait. the special cake with sparklers and the lollipop at the end.C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z Able Archer0

If you can beg borrow or steal a laminator then making place mats is a really nice activity. Just print off a template (there are loads on line) and then give them pens and stickers to decorate it with. Once they are done, laminate it so that they can wipe it clean after dinner and take it home.0

hi great idea sounds fun to add a small idea if you put a smal bit of different food colouring in each plastic wine glass you can make magic drinks as you pour each one will be a different colour the kids are so impressed with this0

Blue Elephant & Meritaten What lovely things to say thank you!:heart2:
Well.... as far as prep goes we've started to put a menu together. Auntie and auntie's boyfriend have been roped in as chief waiting staff (experience essential, sense of humour desirable)
DS has chosen the friends he'd like to invite, I said 5 and he chose his step brother as one of those which leaves his brother and step sister, I have decided they ought to be staff (just to keep the theme) So step-daughter aged 9 and littlest son will be head maid and Butler complete with outfits - I'm really hoping the maid pulls a cinderella moment just to add to the authenticity......:rotfl:
So far that is as far as I have got but it should all be good fun, I'll keep you posted and please keep the ideas coming!!!!
Thank you all Mx :T#118 DFW Debt freely Christmas 2012 Challenge0
