If he does pay, make sure you send it tracked.
  • I had this a few weeks ago - sold an item, the buyer emailed me a few times to ask if it was ok that they delayed payment because of salary etc, which I said fine. After they said they would pay I opened a NPB dispute on ebay.

They had a strike against them - but the worst thing was that they bought something after they bought mine and paid for the other thing straight away - both were high value items - it just annoyed me that they did this.

I couldn't leave feedback for the item or them either

How do you know he paid today, and not that the seller only just left him feedback saying quick payment? Most sellers only leave feedback after the buyer does, so they probably actually bought that item last week.\.
I'd disagree with that most sellers (at leasy 9 out of 10) I deal with leave FB immediately after payment. I do as a seller also. The amount doing this seem to have increased over the past year or so,

Hi OP go down the full NPB route and when you close the case the buyer gets a strike and can't leave any feedback.
If they do leave negative feedback before the case is closed it will be removed when the case closes and remember report them to ebay for doing this as it will then be classed as feedback manipulation.
