Selling old IT equipment - help?!

Hi - I have somehow managed to accumulate in my attic a few old computers and laptops which I no longer need since buying a laptop. My work also has an old Dell server which we want to get rid of.

I've tried finding somewhere to sell these, I'm sure they're useful for parts etc, but haven't really come up with anything useful.

weeebuy will buy one of the laptops but not the other because we cannot find the power cables for it.

Does anybody know where I could sell my old computers/ Dell laptop (working fine but without power cable)/ Skype phones and a server?

Thanks!

Hi there, why don't you post the item specs on here as my other half sells a lot of second hand IT stuff (he's a PC repairer and often buys stuff from car boots and breaks them for the parts) - depending on the rareity of the parts you can get quite a bit for them sometimes

Just because they are second hand doesn't automatically mean they are worth very little
  • Brill, I'll do that - I have just spoken to a guy who might be able to take the server off my hands but will update when I know. Might be a day or two. Thanks

You could always try giving it away - eg via Freegle or Freecycle, or else some charities.
  • I am hoping to make a little cash out of these, as I'm sure they're worth something, so I'll be exploring that avenue before considering giving them away.

Its a Dell Inspiron 6400 but I don't know how old it is, it was left behind by an old flatmate who didn't need it anymore. Trouble is, without a power cable I can't turn it on to test it and I can't get the data off of it.

Also, not sure we can buy and sell stuff on these forums?

You should get £200 for that laptop
