Sunbeds and wedding tans

Hi all
I am getting married in just under 3 weeks and am looking very white! I'd like to be a little bronzed for the day. My SIL2B does spraytans and has said that she can do me, but that it is very likely to come off on the inside of my ivory dress. She suggested I use a gradual tan moisturiser. I have used these before and they are ok, but i find it a bit difficult to get on my back etc (i mostly want my back, shoulders and arms tanned) and not too keen on the smell.
I have never had any sunbeds as I aware that they are not very good for you, however, I am considering having one or two to bronze me up a bit. I tan pretty easily usually and don't burn that easily.
As i have never had any, I have no idea how many I would need, how often or how long for? Can anyone offer any advice or suggestions. I am also not very rich, so any other options need to be very purse friendly!
Thanks for any advice. x

2 or 3 a week till your wedding day will be fine seeing as though you're getting married in 3 weeks.
Don't go mad though! Just do 6 minutes the first couple of times, then go onto 9 minutes.
I did the same last year, I don't tan easily, but I had a lovely glow and it meant I didn't burn on honeymoon!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Thanks Shellsuit. I'll check out my local subed places.0

What about a "Fake Bake" its fake tan but applied with the mit and not sprayed on, and doesn't rub off on your dress (or so my friend told me when she got married and the salon)0

Hi Guys n gals
Just a word of advice on tans, I know you girls like to look 'healthy' on your special day but please think of how your H2B will look when compared to you and vice versa- especially in the all important photos.
I have lost track of the number of beau brides who have themselves ended up looking a stunning shade alone but like umpa-lumpas when stood next to their un-tanned, typically pastey British blokes.
Photoshop has it's limitations and there isn't a 'de-umpalmpa this person but not this person' function.
so, if you're going ..... get your blokes down to the local Tan-Tastic too.
Oh and if you go for a self applied tan - please read the instuctions, I had one bride who was a lovely colour with the exception of ther hands, she looked like she was wearing orrange gloves!Hiring a wedding photographer? Remember to check out their samples and previous work before you book !

Thanks ians5, luckliy my man looks pretty brown in winter and summer thanks to working outdoors, so it's me that's the white one. I certainly don't intend to be orange, i'm normally not into any kind of fake tan as i tan quite easily, but am just looking to get rid of the very white arms i have. Also my sis is flying over from Australia and they are just coming out of summer so I think if i don't have a bit of a tan I'll stand out!0

You'll be glad to know Ian, I have been testing my wedding makeup (yes I'm aware it's very early - but I'll be shopping for foundation a couple of weeks before!), under bright flashes, indoors outdoors and stood next to H2B! The same will go for the bridemaids too!
Hope that makes your life easier!:kisses2: Got married September 2011:smileyhea

I have the same problem as you, except I don't tan easily at all! I want to look brown on honeymoon as well so I'm considering sunbeds (not too keen on Fake Bake etc either) but I'm also a bit worried that it will be harmful to the skin after reading all the horror stories!
Can anyone recommend a good cream to use?0 -
My work friend has recommended using Nivea Body Sunkissed. She uses it and it looks lovely, her skin is really smooth too, so I think I'm going to give that a go.0

'de-umpalmpa this person but not this person' function - lol.
I wish I could invent that, I would make a fortune by the sound of it!0
