Clio & EGR Valve?

What diesel do you use out of interest?
Don't even go there
It does not matter in the slightest if they use Tesco's own or Shell's V-Power diesel
The valve is easy to remove.
It'll take you a few hours to remove, clean, and refit.
Clean the valve with petrol or a product similar. Use a wire brush to remove all the built up carbon. When the valve is clean, refit with a new gasket (available from Renault)
Job done.
EGR's are a pain in the !!!.. On the Laguna's a defective EGR will cause the turbo to self destruct, i don't know if the Clio is the same but i'd do it
My turbo blew last week in my Laguna. Thankfully i've sourced a recon turbo and will be fitting myself on FridayIf Adam and Eve were created first
.Does that mean we are all inbred0 -

Just remove it, blank it off and keep the old EGR wiring connected so the ECU thinks it's still there.
You don't need an EGR its all a load of EU emissions nonsense (reburning exhaust gases to reduce emissions), but in practice what it does is clogs up your intake manifold with black soot and cokes up any sensors housed there (like the MAF or MAP).
When it finally goes wrong it just screws up the amount of exhaust gas being fed back, too much and you get issues.
Check out the owners forum, im sure they'll have guides on doing the work.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Did mine the 1st weekend of Laguna ownership after reading all the horror stories about blown turbos. As well as cleaning the EGR, make sure you give the housing it sits in a really good clean too as there will probably be hidden grooves in to allow flow through to the sensor.Mine was so clogged up you couldn't even see them and only found them by checking on a how to guide photos and using a metal coathanger to clear out the crud. Its a really messy job so wear latex gloves-unlike me who didn't and had black hands for 2 weeks.0
