Noise from neighbours - NOW - Who do I complain to - Please advise!

The noise from my neighbour is driving me mad...they have been having some sort of party since lunchtime today and playing reggae music so loud that things in my house are vibrating...I can't hear my television or anyone on the phone and now have a dreadful migraine. It looks set to last through the night as more and more people are turning up. I'm at my wits end! I daredn't go and speak to them as the last people who complained got bricks thrown through their windows. To dial 999 seems a little over-the-top but surely there is some agency who can intervene...does anyone know? Please can anyone help as I am going quite do-lally here!!!

  • Do you have the 101 number in your area? At the moment it covers Hampshire & the Isle of Wight, Cardiff, Sheffield, Leicester & Rutland and Tyne & Wear.

    If not, the council's website will have advice.
  • Got the out-of-hours number and rung them...waiting foir a call back now.

    Would you believe the noise ceased on the stroke of midnight...gonna look a right idiot now...but I really have been tearing my hair out all afternoon and evening.......:o

    Thanks for pointing me in the right direction...

    I would find a DIY job that requires the use a hammer drill into bricks or cut your grass or something equally as noisy first thing this morning, while they are all nursing hangovers :dance:
    Here I go again on my own....
  • my sister is an EH officer she suggests you have a diary tat you write incedents in. If your neighbours dont keep the volume down they have powers to remove equipment

    I had problems with my neighbour last night about 3.30 am. Banging and banging on the walls and screaming, it was that loud i could hardly hear myself drilling.

    And if you thought that was bad.Years ago I use to live next door to a couple who was a dentist and a chiropodist and the arguments they use to have. They use to go for it tooth and nail. :rotfl:

    You were lucky but it is sounds to have been a stressful day.

    Do they do this often or is this a one off? If it is a habit, then keep a diary and tell the Environmental Health.

    If people were more considerate and warn you or even invite you, there would be less aggro.

    We called the police on our neighbours at 2am when they had their nth party, you can't reason with drunks.
    An average day in my life:hello: :eek::mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T :o :rotfl: :rotfl: :p :eek::mad: :beer:
