We have sold our house in France and now we have got the money from it in Euros in a Euro account with our First Direct Bank. Does anybody know which is the best bank/company that has the best rates for us to change the money back to British sterlins?
Any suggestion and help is very much appreciated.
Kind regards

Did you use these people to exchange your money from your house in France?0

Why on earth does it make any difference whether the money cjmumto2 transferred came from a property sale or elsewhere?
You've owned a house in france - how do you normally transfer money back and forth....?
ps - try posting on the budgeting & banking forum for better advice as this is not a property related Q.0 -
When we sold our house in France 2 years ago, I used http://www.moneycorp.com.
I registered with them, and told them the rate I was hoping to achieve (I was happy to wait for it!), I had also registered with another company and told them the same.
Immediately the exchange rate reached my figure I had a call from Moneycorp to let me know. I transferred my euros from my French bank accound to my English bank account very quickly and totally painlessly.
The second company called me a week after Moneycorp, so they lost out!
Hope this helps, it really was very easy, the hardest part was instructing the French bank to release the money to a third party, but we got there in the end.:)0 -

It's the amount of money, so that people do not get confused with buying and selling foreign currency for holidays0 -
I have got no idea if these guys are any good, but I did hear about them in a motley fool podcast. The concept seems sound (if a little difficult to get your head round at first).

How did the OP get their money to France, to buy the house in the first place ? Was that safe, efficient, competitive ?Act in haste, repent at leisure.
