Hi,
I have posted something here, only to discover some days later it has been deleted without warning or reason; I didn't swear in that post nor advertised anything.
Assuming a forum is not an electronic kind of dictatorship, what is going on?

Have you read the post from Martin appealing for calm on the forums and explaining that he is legally liable for all that is published on this site as he is the owner. This is the reason why moderators and report buttons are needed to monitor things on an open forum. For legal reasons and the cost of that etc.
It may have been someone else's reply that triggered a request for removal0 -

I'm not sure... but forums are a kind of "dictatorship", if you want to use that word. If you paid for web servers to be available, paid for the broadband connection to them, paid for any kind of administration (removing spam, etc.), then surely it would be your prerogative to "dictate" exactly how the forums are run, what messages are allowed, etc.
To put it another way, is it dictatorial of you to prevent anyone who wants to from entering your house? If you did invite someone in, then wouldn't you also expect to be able to tell them to leave at any time and for any reason?0 -

There are loads of little skirmishes, but few bust-ups.
Amazing really that they don't implode from opinion overload.
Does the law of trespass give us rights of 'benign' dictatorship?0 -

I've found your post. You used two derogatory terms, avoided our swear filter by using a hyphen in a swear word, made a potentially libelous accusation and ended it with a reference to "cancerous vomit".
Are those enough reasons for you?

Hi fuvb
Just to add to this, we've had to remove another post of yours on here.
Provided what you write is true, meets the rules as described in Martin's link, and isn't libellous in any way, your gripe about a company wouldn't need to be removed. It's just the way you've been putting it that we can't allow to stay.
Andrea

Well, you people really go by the bible - I think I'd have better chances posting on a Christian site...
But this is the way you want it and I'd like to go along, because I really wish to warn people of the voipbuster horrible attitude and how they kept the money in my account. In that sense, is it too much to ask that you send me my deleted posts so to edit them accordingly and re-post them? Are you going to delete this one also I wonder? Is the word "voipbuster" alone actually responsible for the deletions?
Thank you.0 -

It would also be helpful if staff - MSE Guy for instance - responded (however briefly) to PMs sent to them about posts raising concerns in Discussion Threads started by MSE - the Pension Boosting one in my case.0 -
I suspect that the staff have far far too many PMs / emails to respond to anything but urgent matters.0
