Not sure if I've posted this in the right place...:o
All our personal info is held either electronically or manually in files. We are now having our name, address telephone number emergency contact name, address, telephone number put in a file which is to be distributed to a number of people (mainly managers) so that they can contact us or our emergency contact in an emergency. Is this allowed as not everyone has access to locked cabinets and the emergency may be that the workplace has burnt down and we need to contact employees to let them know which means these folders are likely to be kept at the persons house???

That's a little difficult to understand as there are too many We, they etc which refer to different people. So can I just clarify, your employer wishes to compile an emergency contact list and you are concerned that it will be held at someones home (and not secured)?0
