How do we stop the building of the current influx of !!!!!! new housing

My Parents built a Potton late 80's/early 90's mostly oak beam type stuff and a little oldy worldy farmhouse for me, but self build has crossed my mind more than once.
Money no object, I like the following type of architecture.
The first one is in Reigate (5 miles from where I live now), the next two are Norfolk....I just like the houses, all about the same size, yet the one in Reigate is worth about 5 times the other two (around £5 Million) - go figure...

So you really feel that the UK has enough spare land to keep building the type of house that you want (and I for one think they are monstrosities - I'd much rather have the townhouse or the 1930s detached you quoted).

We currently have a very very small proportion of the land on this island developed, compare that to what is set aside for farming, which is being susidised through our taxes as they aren't able to make any use of it or any money from it.
From my bedroom window, all you can see for miles is rolling feilds and farmland, not a housing estate as far as the eye can see, the only break on the horizon is the M25 running through the middle of it.0 -
when a piece of land is brought we apply for planning permission and guess what a team of LOCAL experts employed by the LOCAL COUNCIL made up of LOCAL people decide what is expected to fit in with LOCAL requests and the LOCAL established landscape, sure developers will put in plans for what they know will sell in each area, why build something that wont sell?
The smaller property market is usually controlled by price range and FTByrs, they do buy about 50% then single parents , then older couples downsizing.my bark is worse than my bite!!!!!!!!0 -

c. 90% of the land in the UK is green & pleasant - unbuilt on. We're no-where near using up our finite resource."Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.

Those are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others.
I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

I'll retire to somewhere like that, look at the value of the place compared to what we pay here, astonishing.0
