Portugal - A22 Toll Road

In case visitors to Portugal are not aware, the A22 is set to become a toll road commencing 15 April 2011, there is a lot of local resident objection to this plan.
The current plan is for everyone (including tourists), to buy/rent an electronic device, on which you will then load funds, (for residents this can be linked to their bank accounts) that sits in the car, as you use the A22, the overhead gantrys are being fitted with sensors and they will then deduct the funds directly from the device in the car.

The other problem, is that currently there are no devices available and those that are available are only in a set few post offices/citizen offices in the Algarve.
