They are all the same car, made in the same factory, just cosmetic differences.

yep, all the same car as my old man (peugeot mechanic) tells me. Peugeot developed the engines apart from Toyota's diesel offering apparently.
I have had two Peugeots (307's) and only issues i had were electric windows motor needed replacing on both which was covered under warranty. The engines on the newer Peugeots are fantastic, although up until 2/3 years ago their reputation hasn't been great. However reading reports on the new models like the 3008, 5008 and the forthcoming 508 they seem to have got their act together.

On whether to buy Pug/Citroen/Toyota, get the one that gives you the best deal. I personally think the 107 and C1 look ugly, but the front end of the Toyota is the best looking...

I would go to one dealer try haggle down as much as you can then go to the other two dealers and see if they can beat it. Good little car and I hear new ones are going quite cheap

Thanks all for the useful insights and help.

Yes, they had a a brand new 107 for £6999 (reduced from £8999), so only £1000 more than the 2008 model we looked at. However, it was the base model, so no electric windows, or aircon, or side airbags, or split seat or rev counter etc etc and was in bright yellow!

There is a Toyota I have seen which is £5500 which isn't from a main dealer, so wont get the warranty that the main dealers are offering or the free service or new tyres the pug garage have said they will do, but it is slightly cheaper and so could use that to haggle down someone else hopefully.

    Wrong way round.

The diesel is the 1.4 PSA unit as used in various Peugeots, Citroens and Fords. The 3 cylinder 1.0 petrol is an updated Japanese design which began life in a Daihatsu many years ago.

    £5700 for a 3 year old 107? Whaaaaaaaaa?

Have a look at the Kia Picanto - I bought a brand new one for £6050 before finance deposit contribution (another £500) although that's the base model. Think the next model up is c.£7k.

Versus my £3000 for 4 year old Vectra, with leccy windows, aircon, and a boot big enough to move house with.

Shocking prices for these small cars right now :s

You seen diesel prices too. So many people wanting them now because they are assuming diesel = money saved on fuel. Easily garages adding a lot onto diesels now and probably all fuel efficient cars.
