Tesco told me my DTD voucher was fraudulant

Tried to redeem my £39 DTD voucher in tesco yesterday. After the manager scrutinised it and left me standing at the till for 20 mins he comes marching back with another member of staff/security to tell me it was a fraudulant voucher. He then refused to give me it back! I asked to go to customer services and ring head office. They said they were shut on a Sunday. The girls at CS desk were much nicer and said 'it's scanning fine'. They then said oh put it through, we'll sort this out tomorrow. But i really had to stand my ground. I told them they made me feel like a criminal and the way the manager spoke to me in public at the tills was extremely emabarassing. I was quite shaken by the experience. They didn't appear to really know what to do with the voucher as they'd only had one before that week. Do you think I should complain ?

Errr, YES!!
I hope you have rung them by now.
This is a Tesco offer, if you are following their DTD you have done nothing wrong.
hope you have the managers name to ask for a personal apology.
Good luck!!How much ?????????!!!0 -
Ive emailed to complain. Felt easier writing it rather than ringing. I'll post the outcome..0

That is outragous.
I hope your email of complaint was a bit more forthright than your OP -Completely unacceptable behaviour.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Just got a response...'Thank you for your email which is receiving our attention.'0

How old was it? They have limited this to £20 (I think!!) now so that might have been the problem. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

A couple of weeks old. I know there's a £20 cap now. But they're still honouring the older ones. He didn't mention that the value was the problem. It's the second one Ive ever used. Last time they just scanned it through.0

Even if it was old, it was just old, fraudulent and accusing someone of a criminal action is way out of order! I'd be wanting heads on plates if they accused me of fraud in a busy store!!0

Have to admit I would have been on the phone to HQ customer service or, more likely, standing at CS in the store demanding to see the manager, probably rather loudly. If they ask for evidence, point to their own CCTV system. They should have taken you aside if they suspected you of fraud, not done it in public!
I hope you get this sorted, a public apology is the least you deserve. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
