I wouldn't wait and drive with unsafe tyres longer than necessary, but there are other places than Kwik Fit.
I don't know where you are in the country but there are good, local tyre places everywhere.
I get my tyres from my local Hi-Q outfit, Celtic Tyres in south Wales, and they are competitive on price with the online suppliers. Try http://www.hiqtyresonline.co.uk/contact/ or look in Yellow Pages for your local outlet.
Alternatively you could contact your local http://www.mytyres.co.uk fitter directly by phone and see what they quote on any of the suggested options above.Debt at highest: September 2003 - £26,350
Debt now: £14,100
Debt free day: October 2008 :beer:0 -

First thing Monday morning get the yellow pages out and ring around a few of the local tyre centres. Ask them to give you the final price (which includes fitting, balancing, new valve and old tyre disposal) for a range of tyres ie economy, budget and premium.
You can then order the tyres from the cheapest place tomorrow to ensure they have it ib stock on Wednesday.
Also you might try www.justtyres.co.uk if you have a branch nearby. They are not the cheapest but usually better than Kwik Fit. They also do tracking for (I think!) around £25/30. For example they currently have the Micheline tyre to buy online at £65.99 all inc which is not bad for a Micheline tyre0 -
Before you do anything, try this place out.

I had my tyres fitted 2 weeks back & they beat the cheapest quote I got after discounts by 10%. I had Dunlop Sport 2000E 205/55/R16 W fitted on my BMW for £55 each all in. Now thats what I call a bargain.0 -
