I've been reading some old threads about buying tyres and have looked at black circles as a result. they seem very good value.
Their prices include fitting but does anyone know what they charge for tracking?
thanks

Blackcircles works by having selected garages fit the tyres for them. They supply the garage, and the garage contact you to organise fitting.

Therefore, tracking wouldn't be done via Blackcircles but the garage you have them fitted by. There is search option on the site to find your nearest garage. You will need to ring up and get a quote directly.

N.B. Don't know if you have found this link on the old threads, but use https://www.blackcircles.com/msn for a £5 off voucher. If your ordering more than one tyre, order them individually through that page to get £5 off each tyre.

  • In addition to the £5 off per tyre, they send you an online questionaire once you have had them fitted.

I took 30 seconds to fill it in and they sent me an £8 discount code for my next purchase.

    Try also http://www.mytyres.co.uk

Tracking is of course separate from fitting and balancing so you'd have to ask the fitting station. (Black Circles' fitting might be mobile, in which case you'd need to take the car to a garage anyway).

Incidentally (and your mileage may vary) what tyres are you thinking of?

Tyres are one area where people who would think nothing of paying a fortune for top brand clothing will insist on the cheapest no-name items. (Although I know that Black Circles tend to specialise in branded goods).

What tyres are you thinking of, for what car, out of interest?

well, I know nothing......so I just put in the numbers from the handbook of my Nissan Almera: 185/65 R15 and BC came up with suggestions one of which was a Pirrelli at a very good price.

I went to Kwik Fit today and they were quoting £47 for just a bog standard tyre nothing with a well known name.
The trouble is I now realise that I won't be able to use the online tyre companies anyway because, as I discovered today, my tyres are now illegal and I have to get them done ASAP - which in reality means on Wed. which is when I will have some money!

    On mytyres.co.uk, I'd consider:

    Superbudget - Marshal KH35 £33.70 + fitting = £43.70
    Budget Kumho KH15 - £47.10
Budget Hankook Optimo K406 (I have these on my Peugeot 306) - £48.60
    Quality - Bridgestone Turanza ER300 - £59.30
    Quality - Goodyear Hydragrip - £63.70
    Quality - Pirelli P6 - not too keen on the older P6000 - £63.80

All prices are £10 more than the published price, to allow for fitting, which is extra - and variable - so you may pay as little as £6 or as much as £15.

All the above are consistently well reviewed in the German motoring press (which is very safety conscious) linked to from mytyres and by the user-based site tyretest.com. Some of the reviews are quite scathing, so I do trust their independence.

Blackcircles.com is quoting £47.76 for the K406s and to my mind they're at least the equal of the P6000s you've seen, which are on my parents' Focus.

If you have to wait until Wednesday then you've got at least as much chance of getting Blackcircles to do the work as you do of getting the Arrowspeeds or whatever no name from Kwik Fit.

this is very useful information. but unfortunately I have to either pay cash or transfer cash to black circles (which I can't do before Wed.) and transfers can take a few days.
i feel its important to get them replaced asap cos Kwikfit said they (front tyres) are below minimum and also showed me that, owing to bad tracking, inside edge has worn smooth! so I don't feel very safe now I know this.
What do you think? Is it worth waiting the extra few days to get BC or MT to do the job for a bit less?

    thanks for all advice.
