wood pellet help

Hi we have a charnwood multi fuel stove that we burn coal or logs in at present we have a three bedroom house, which heats up quite nicely when you get the fire going,

can any one tell me whether we can use these wood pellets in them as they are relativity cheap (2.63 for a 15kg bag) they look like the cat litter that we use at present, so the poor cat may have to go elsewhere if my husband decides to use them lol.

any help greatly received.

I think that a specific wood pellet boiler is necessary - that price is cheap are you sure its not for bulk purchase?
  • I see absolutely no reason why you couldn't use pellets. Especially in a mix with logs or coal.

As long as you get a good fire burning first (as pellets may be a bit harder to ignite), the pellets will burn well.

It's just compressed wood after all.....

We use a Guntamatic 44kw log boiler, which is more labour intensive than pellets (fully automated), but we have our own logs, so no need to buy anything in, = free heating.
