Borage really gets the bees interested. Thanks for reminding me, I know I have a packet here somewhere. Personally I've never used it in a dish or drink (supposed to be good for Pimms), but still worth growing all the same, even if it's just for the bees.
  • most herbs grow really well from cuttings - don't pay silly money for plants at the garden centre - just ask your neighbor / friend for a sprig or two

basil , coriander etc are probably better from seed - parsley and fennel will readily self seed if you give it a chance) rosemary, sage, lavendar etc best from cuttings - split and divide lovage, tarragon, thyme, comfrey, oregano, angelica etc just lift and transplant roots of mint & self heal
saving money by growing my own - much of which gets drunk
    made loads last year

I would love to have that option however none of my friends have gardens or grow plants and my neighbours have only shrubs and bedding plants (I have asked).

I got a lovely Bee Friendly Selection pack from MoreVeg last week. It consisted of Lemon Bergamot, Alba Borage, Domino Dill and Pot Marjoram, Offer price £1.50 instead of £2. P&P 95p. I am looking forward to adding them to those I collected last year.

    Argh!!! You made me look!
I've ordered the Bee collection, Milder Chili collection and some herbs including Red Perilla(?) Cinnamon Basil and Winter Savory.

I'm not going to be able to move for plants! :rotfl:
