Thank you all so much for the get well wishes for Mum. She's alot more normal colour now! She's waiting for a transfer to UCLH or Addenbrooks for a gastroscope op, then she is going home until next Thursday when she is back to PAH to get the gall bladder out.
DH has worked from home today and has been flying. The kitchen is spotless and he has hoovered all of downstairs. He's also cooked dinner for the brood and done a load of filing. I'm so lucky to have him
:):).
DS1 got the bus from college and travelled 20 miles to go and see his nan in hospital - it brought tears to her eyes.
I dashed to pick up my new car a day late and rushed into Mr Marks to buy my mum a long nightie - those hospital gowns are so undignified.
I see that lady L needs some spoons so I'm sending them by the drawer full.
Also very belated congratulations to Pigpen and her OH.0 -

Mumto5 (((hugs))) for you and Mum. Having a wonderful OH is a definite asset. Really good to hear that DS1 is happy to be with Mum. A lot of kids can't deal with people in hospital - particularly on their own.
Know what you mean about hospital gowns. I didn't even own a nightie until I spent 3 months in hospital last year. They seem to be quite difficult to find these days unless you want the slinky type which really doesn't work!GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500 -
mumto5 can I suggest that you get her 3 or 4 cheapie ones from the likes of bon marche etc a couple of sizes too big and with spacious sleeves and head openings - maybe buttons at the neck. As a nurse, I can tell you its a lot kinder to the patient to help them get a nightie over a venflon or drain etc when the nightie has got a bit of room to manouvre. Also things do get grubby very easily in hospital so to have a few to hand is probably going to be easier for you with the washing. Hope she is on the mend soon.0
