Follows in the tail wind.
Not flying much at the moment, lots going on, hand is limiting typing and flying and of course the sun is shining and the garden beckoning.

Thanks to everyone for the lists and support
need more help - bribery? With my step sons we did set jobs for a set value. It vaguely worked as long as I was strict about no jobs, no money, and a reminder meant half money.
DS1 has decided that as he is 8 on Saturday it is time he had more jobs to do and he is going to feed the dogs everyday. It is a start I suppose.
Lost most of the weekend to the vomiting bug that the boys had the other week. Spent yesterday mostly in bed which meant my aches from moving boxes on Saturday had gone today. At least now I know I can push it as long as I rest - didn't even take ibuprofen as I couldn't.
So far I have hoovered downstairs, emptied and filled the DW, put the WM on, and shoved yesterdays uncooked beef joint in the oven. Before I give in and go to bed I must iron, do the census and sort lunches/bags for tomorrow.

Are there others in the house who could be helping but dont?

Dh does help and things aren't too bad most of the time - unless we are both pooped (which is quite often!) He works weird shifts 1-10, 8-4, off, 1-10 then 8am-10pm,then off 2 days. Kids also do help but sometimes it piles up too much and we have to have a mega blitz which usually has to take place in school hols. Am a boss so have a mega amount to bring home which I don't mind and we do the routines thing fairly well most nights. Just seems to be that when we collapse we collapse big style, and I hate losing things and things being 'a tip'. Have managed level 1 today - but that was mainly by sneaking early out of a meeting :eek:Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Not a good start to this week as I was out at the ideal home show yesterday and did not get home until 11pm! Then had college all day today on top of not being very well.
Anyway, moan over. Had WM on (DH dried them for me;)), made a roast dinner (got DH to put meat in oven ready by following my notes:D), washed pans, went shopping for food for poorly dog and I am going to rest up for the rest of today and do kitchen floor tomorrow. The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T0 -

Kids are now in bed, did a HHC upstairs at the same time and emptied all the bins as it's bin day tomorrow. Going to go to bed myself now I think ready for tomorrow as I've got a busy day. Work then vets @ 5.30 then training surgery @ 7.30 so won't get much time to do anything else.NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20

I have two boys 11 and 5.
I have tried everything from reward charts to banning tv programmes etc.
The 11 year old is a lazy so and so, always has been, He has to be asked time and time again to do the simplist of jobs to help out. Even my mum, sister and SiL have spoken to him about helping but it falls on deaf ears.
The 5 year old is on the go all the time, (we are seeing a consultant about him at the moment) He seems to get everything out and doesn't play with anything. It can be hard to get through to him at the best of times. He is up from 5 o'clock and is like a duracell bunny until he literally drops at about 9-10 o'clock (depends when we get his sleeping tablets in him)
Most of the time I just ignore it and get on with it but lately I could just do with a break. In his defence DH although not perfect does help out when he can but he works long shifts.
Jen
The 5 y/o ... put stuff away... sort his stuff into boxes and put them all away apart from 1 box.. it makes it easier putting things away. Have you tried asking him to help mummy put these things away? Or he does the red/orange/purple things and you do bue/green/yellow .. or vice versa. My DS3 who is 12 has aspergers and he would do the red group and I'd do the others.. he was obsessed with red.. and still is.
The 11 y/o .. There are a few ways to deal with him.. 1. Give him a choice of jobs.. he chooses 1 and you do the other .. eg. Son, I would like you to help me with some stuff.. would you like to clear the table so I can do the dishes or would you bring the laundry down from the bathroom? You can then *do an interesting activity* .. once done offer praise and say what a great help he is.
2. I will ask you one time to do a job for me and you will not be asked a second time. It is not unreasonable for you to help me or do things for yourself so.. would you please bring the laundry from your room *other task* or there is no tv or consoles for this evening/no playing out with your friends tomorrow after school for example. I give you 15 minutes to complete this and set a timer.. if it is not done follow through on the consequences if it is done lots of praise.
3. pocket money.. he gets 10p/20p/50p a day whatever you feel is appopriate.. in return he does 1 job for every 5p or 10p.. if he fails to do the job given he loses that chunk of money.. at the end of the week he gets his wages.. he will probably buy a shed load of sweets but it is incentive and a great reward for help.
DS1 is currently needing praise for digging over 1/4 of my garden which was covered in moss and dandelions.. £5 this one costs!!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

:hello:Hi to all my flylady friends!
I've done the wsahing up - and two loads of washing. That's the flying bit.
This week I'll be in for any flying that doesn't involve, bending, heavy lifting, or energetic exercise. Medical grounds.;)
Had my small facial op this morning, and that's what it says on the aftercare leaflet. I don't intend to ignore it. DD came with me to drive me home, just as well, as I felt a lot shakier after than I was expecting. I have had a very quiet day, and am going back to work tomorrow - I only have a small dressing, but am feeling quite self conscious - it'll be worse Thursday, as the dressing will be off. Maybe I'll take a paper bag to put over my head...
Just caught up on the very end of last week's thread - just to find out the news. Congratulations pigpen and OH.:D
Love and hugs, especially for Lady-Liberty, Toots, and lamewolf. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0
