Just want you views on this proposal.
I am think of stopping working tues, weds, thurs and Friday to be able to spend more time( baby sitting) with my grandson.
What i intend to do is just work Sat, Sun and Monday. What is your opinions on this, will people want a Plumber in the home at the weekend and would you pay extra for this service?
All opinions wanted good or bad.

i work all week too so a plumber at weekends would be lovely. don't know if i would want to pay more though because plumber's fees seem so high as is.0

you can chance you arm with the higher price, and actually market yourself as a weekend plumber. If you get calls and they are put off by the extra charge, you can remove it, if you need the work.
I think its a good idea.go on, adopt a greyhound

I certainly think there is a gap in the market. Many folk who do the 9-5 Monday to Friday thing resent taking a days leave to wait in for plumbers/electricians and such like. As for the extra cost, if you don't go over the top I imagine most would accept it.

it would be great!! when you work all week it can be very hard to get someone to come out over the weekend!
i would definitely use it!! well should i need it!'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
Sounds an interesting idea. I'd be very interested to hear how you get on in 12 months time.
My only comment would be about your name, would Joe Public think Weekend Plumber meant you had another job in the week and plumbing was your second job at the weekends. What about Convenient Plumber (you agree the time - Fri, Sat, Sun - to do the job when customers are more likely to have time at home), or something more exclusive, like Personal Plumber? From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

Thanks for all the replys so far.
Yes The Weekend Plumber does sound a bit naff.
Not to keen on Convenient or Personal( bit like a massarge lol) have to think of a better name and a good logo?0 -
I agree with mpython about the "weekend plumber" name, is does sound like it's your second job (and I can't find a "falls flat on floor with amazement" smiley
)
You will have to strike the balance between the extra cost for the weekend work and limited hours against the extra that customers will be willing to pay.
I'm thinking about a name as I write and so far have only come up with "flexible" which makes you sound more like a yoga instructor than a plumber. I'll edit this when I have something better.A house isn't a home without a cat.
Those are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others.
I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

Can't see why you have to charge extra, as you are not doing extra hours, more like less. this is not overtime, just you using your time to better effect for yourself, no probs with that, but why penalise your potential customers? I think you would get more work using normal rates and your customers would not feel ripped off.
If you are thinking of " stopping working tues, weds, thurs and Friday" how come you are intending to "just work Fri, Sat and Sunday"? are there 2 Fridays in your week?Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
What about, "plumber at your convenience"Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0

Plumb 1, Great idea, having to be at home during the week when you need a plumber usually means wasting precious work holiday time.
I believe people would be prepared to pay a little more for the convenience of getting something fixed when they want it done rather than when they are told it can be done - at least i know i would.
and Derrick love thishave you been watching carry on films recently ?
