Hi ya a little insight We had recently moved into a new borough and changed jobs etc we previously used to have H.B about 1 month ago when I went to check our H.b Payment we were £160.00 light.
when we inquired they said that the 13 week period had passed and so the money dropped also when We applied for our H.B with this new borough We had to supply wage slips etc but because it was a new claim etc and I had only just started at my new job they wanted a wage slip every month and a income declaration form from my work to say what I was projected to earn and how many hours, When I started work it was in october and the run up before christmas and its very very busy so there was lots of overtime going, even thou I worked 12hrs due to the overtime H.B said I would have had a yearly average of 18.5 hours:( I tried to contest this saying that this is due to the extra hours worked . They said that when did overtime I could claim W.C as that would take me over. When I checked with working tax credit they said it goes on the contractual hours (12) Anyone else had this or can make sense of this for me. thanks

I can't make any sense of that, mainly due to the lack of sentences and paragraphs; also because you don't seem to have actually posed a clear question.
However, I can tell you that for the first 13 weeks of a HB claim where you have not claimed HB in the previous 52 weeks, you are allowed to be paid on the full rent charged. After 13 weeks, you are restricted to a rate based on the LHA for your area and circumstances. :cool:0 -

How many hours does your partner work, you can add both and reach a total.
I have never known HMRC to base your award on contractual hours, it should be for you to average your hours and ensure your income or hourly wage proves your declaration.
If you have no children or disabilities you need to jointly work 30 hours, if you do have children or a disability it could be 16 hours.
If you become entitled to working tax credits this may reduce your housing and council tax benefit due to increased incomeForums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0
