Negative Pregnancy test confusion..
Comments
-
I've fell pregnant 3 times missing the pill for 1 day!
I also had a negative then a very faint line with this one.
I'd wait a few days then go for a digi one if you still think your pg.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
I got a positive before my period was due it depends how sensitive the test you are using it!
And lol agree with Annibee about the pill, I fell pregnant with DD the month after coming off it, despite being on it for years....it was a bit of a shock I have to say!!
I never had morning sickness though ^^Money money money.

I'd been on the pill for 16 years plus and got by BFP after 8 cycles of being off so don't fret on the 2 years, everybody is different. I got a negative test on 8dpo and 3 positives on 10dpo so it can take a time to show positive as it's based on detecting the hormone pregnancy generates. The longer you leave it the stronger the test result will be.
My advice, don't symptom-spot as you can drive yourself mad. I didn't SS as I didn't have any to find and have had a trouble-free preggers and 34 weeks tomorrow.
Good luck x0 -
Hi everyone.
Thanks for your thoughts i do appreciate it. I'm ok about not being PG, as we didnt really want to start this month, but i would be fine the other way, so i'm not really wishing yes or no either way. Just wanting to know!
As for the won't show PG until you are late your next period, well thats the thing, it is supposed to be the period after conception, ie 10-14 days ish later which is the one i had, but only for a day and half. If i wait till my next one, that will be about 36 days since conception, which doesnt seem to tally with the advice on when to test. I'm now 7 days past when my period was due.
I get what you mean about wishing symptoms in to existence, but the only reason i put 2+2 together to suspect it possible, is that i suddenly started feeling sick and dizzy. Otherwise it wouldnt have crossed my mind, what with the pratice run being 2 days later than optimal.
I did wonder about my hormone levels, as the OV tests i have used are on the faint side of a proper reading, so maybe it might be the same for my pregnancy hormones too. I'll take your various thoughts on board and attempt to chill until my next ovulation dates are due, and see what occurs. If i get neg results on that, i'll try another PG test.
Cheers for the advice.

If you've had some kind of period and are past the date your period was due, and are getting negative results, then I'm sorry but you aren't pregnant. Periods do sometimes go a bit random and you get a long one or short one or a heavy or light one, but if you are way past your period'd due date (and you have had a period) then the tests will be right.
If you were only just around your period date I'd say wait a bit as I never test positive until a few days after my period would have been due (and I am on a 35-day cycle but I OV around day 14 so that's a long wait!) but if you;re after your period and show negative then it was a just a random period.
Better luck next month.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Well I think it is safe to assume you are not pregnant after 3 negative tests.
The symptoms of early pregnancy are often very similar to your period being due so very simple to mix them up.
Stop fretting over it let it happen in its own time.. well, within reasonEnjoy the practice and remember hubby is not there solely for baby making..
The pill can take up to 2 years to work itself out of your system esp if you've taken it a long while.. just go with it and relax.
I also had 3 negative tests before a positive with our 1st (that we lost).
Only DS was saying "I'm here" and the blue line showing as a positive within seconds of me widdling on the stick, but I did do that test in America.
I had a blood test via my GPs with DD cos despite the 5 nos, I'd then been pregnant twice before and I knew the signs regardless of what the stick said. I just needed someone to confirm it!0 -
I never tested pregnant with my DD1 - I thought I was about 16 weeks pregnant or going insane, after being fobbed off at the GPs. Not testing pregnant so not pregnant (wasn't trying for a baby) but kept fainting.
In the end I demanded to see a different doctor, who examined me and got one of those dobbler things out to hear hearbeat, sent me as an emergency, for a scan I nearly fell off the bed when she said 29 weeks pregnant. She'll be three this year.
With DD2 I only got my period back in August (9 months after DD1 was born) then had a period in Sept. Very irregular, different periods though. Decided to try again when DD1 was a year. Didn't feel pregnant but come Jan I went to the GPs, blood test followed by scan showed I was 3 months pregnant. 20 month age gap between my DDs. That time didn't bother with the stick.OPs so far £42,139

Always a common misconception.......*some kind of period* - actually its extremely common to experience bleeding when implantation occurs its why a lot of people dont realise how far pregnant they are ie they bled a little at their last period date then not on their next one thinking that's the missed period but really its not its the 2nd missed one iyswim
Stick with the pregnancy tests and if in doubt see a doctor as people will always tell you conflicting information and unfortunately a lot of people only see it in black and white - had period = not pregnant. test negative = not pregnant...... and that's not true for all
Also your symptoms etc could just be where you've come off the pill and your body's adjusting.....
HTH xI, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

for me, with my last baby i just knew i was preg, had no symptons but i just knew. even tho my period was about a week late after 2 tests they were neg, but i knew i was. did a third and it said i was.
with this baby i tested about 5 days before period was due and it came up as preg. even after about 6 or 8 positive test i still didn't believe i was, lol.
sometimes u can just have a short period and you can see all the symptons because u want to. i'd say leave it a few days and do another test if u want to.0
