Flight cancellation refund

I cancelled my flight tickets due to illness earlier this year. I've got a partial refund from the airline (Lufthansa) and would like to claim the rest from my travel insurance.

To claim the money I have to provide a cancellation invoice that confirms the booking has been cancelled and the amount the airline is unable to refund. However Lufthansa have only issued a Cancellation acknowledgement with no information about the (un)refunded amounts. When I contacted the airline they redirected me to Customer Relations Department which can only be reached through post or fax. I sent my request both by post and by fax almost two months ago but haven't received any reply.

Any ideas what can be done in this situation?

Thanks
Victor
