Ebay US shows viewers & watchers - Ebay UK just watchers

Taking advantage of the most recent free listing day, I've listed or relisted a number of unsold items and just had a look to see the number of watchers.
Quite by chance, I actually logged in on ebay.com rather than ebay.co.uk and have discovered that this shows not just the number of watchers - but also the number of viewers.
It's only a small thing (which I know is available on 3rd party websites, like auctiva), but it conveniently helps show a seller what is hot and what's not.
It's rather strange that the UK website doesn't offer the same facility - is there an actual reason why?

You can add it to your listing to see the number of views. It's normally at the bottom of the listing page.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

I find that having the number of watchers a complete waste of time! I have had items watched in the past by over 20 people but none of them bid, which makes me wonder what is the point of the service! At present I have two items listed without any bids, one has 23 watchers and the other 28 watchers. On the law of averages at least one of the items will receive a bid and be sold, but on past experience who knows! To Dare is To Do:beer:0

The option is definatly there somewhere, 289 people have viewed my bike and there are 20 watchers.0

On your Active Listings page, on the top right corner in the shaded blue area it says 'customise display' then add # of views and # of watchers to the 'columns to display'
# bids
# bidders
# offers
# watchers
# questions (greyed out)
but no option for '# views/viewers'
Maybe I am restricted because I'm a private seller?"The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.

hang on, do you have 'Selling Manager'? Perhaps it's only available there?
If that's it and the option is available only on Selling Manager, then I'd get it. It's easy and free and available to private sellers and it gives better ways to organise sales even if you're only an occasional seller. AND it will give you the views and watchers.
Please let me know if my guess is right and sorry for causing any confusion everyone!0
