Unlocking 3 phones

I have a nokia e63 and a 6630 on the three network but would now like to UAE one of them on the t mobile network, I am advised to unlock will coat me fifteen pounds, but to be a warw that sometime cards will not work after the unlocking, if it doesn't work I forfeit the 15 ,does anyone know if this os likely to work okay on either of e phones

I recently paid £15 to unlock my 3 E63. I was given the code over the phone and unlocked it while the CS Rep is still on the phone. It is pretty straightforward and unlocked phone works fine afterwards (I did have it unbranded as well, as I don't like the 3 layout).
