Why did I have a child?

I ask because I've spent all morning scrubbing the house out for my dad coming down and my son has spilt chocolate milk all over the lounge (cream) carpet.

Just need reminding that I love him dearly and he's the best thing that ever happened:rolleyes:

Oh well got loads of wine in to help blot out my dad's criticisms of everything from why my diet isn't working to why have I coloured my hair. Please tell me I will survive these next 3 days

You will survive these next 3 days :-)

I'm sure your dad has plenty of his own memories of similar things YOU did :p
  • After many visits from my parents always ending in headache, all I can say is that I have just accepted my values are so totally different from my parents.

That not everything they say is right is, and vice versa. I now attempt to let whatever criticism I get during their visits go over my head.

So it may be difficult, but you will survive and you will have many more lovely moments with your son too!!!

Aww - you've got my sympathies. We've all been there.

Mine were specifically told this morning that no friends are allowed in today because I'm wallpapering the hall and stairs. They've been in three times now asking if Patrick can come in. Last time they came in husband said if they asked again, they'd be spending the rest of the day removing his boots from their rectums, so they haven't asked again :rotfl:
Here I go again on my own....

sending you all my sympathy. the question isn't why you had a child, it is why you had parents. i know it's easy to say but hard to do but 'water off a ducks back' to the criticism. after all you've done alright so far.

if your dad criticises your weight or your hair colour i'd be wondering why i kept in contact with him - NOT why i had a mucky child lol!
