Wedding jewellery - budget or splash out??

I splashed out and I am now saving it to pass on to my daughter, either for her wedding or just to give her (maybe on her 21st)

When I got married I had a set of pearl drop earrings and a pendant from Argos..it was nice at the time but I never wore it again. I think it depends if you are only planning on wearing it once or if you want something to keep and hand down as a heirloom and even for your daughter to wear on her wedding day. You can buy some beautiful costume jewellery but as a wedding jewellery designr I guess I'm biased towards silver, and Swarovski!!0

I decided to splash out on a lovely sheila fleet necklace (one of the rowan collection), my family gave me money towards it for my birthday to help me out, and it's sooo beautiful. But then I took it to mum's to colour match and it's completely disappeared! I'm gutted, we spent hours looking for it but it's not turned up this was a couple of weeks ago). I feel I've got to come to terms with it being goneGot a job at Inchmahome Priory, woooooooooo!!

Hi,
Jewellery always fits to your dressing whether it has been given by your Ex or by the new one. Whatever kind of dress you are wearing or going in any kind of party, jewellery always suits to your personality.

Why shouldn't you indeed! I personally think that it's your money and if it's what you want to spend it on and you're not getting in debt over it, then go for it.
I'm nowhere near getting married yet but I'd like to wear the Tiffany silver flower necklace and earrings my parents and sisters bought me when I turned 21 if I ever do - it sounds soppy but it's special to me, and is also a classic design that will go with lots of things."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -

I splurged on wedding jewellery - not crazy expensive but still around £75 each for necklace and matching tiara. Both are now in their boxes in the loft. They'll be lovely to show the kids one day (well, if we have a girl lol). One thing I do wish is that I had found a wedding necklace that I could have worn again; something that would go with dresses on swanky nights out or to other weddings. My necklace was gorgeous and had pearls and sparklies in it that matched the detailing on my dress, but I could have gone with something purely sparkly or something generally less 'bridal'. Then I could wear it again and know it was my wedding necklace.0
