If you are going to uninstall Ad-Aware, a good suggestion is to use Appremover (http://www.appremover.com/) to remove it cleanly.
Personally I wouldn't use Teatimer or SDHelper from Spybot - just the Immunisations, and even sometimes a scan since they've improved the speed.
I have managed to turn off the Teatimer in Spybot RussJK but I cannot see how to disable or turn off SDHelper? Any advice on how to do this please?0 -
Agree with browntoa, looks like a false positive from asquared.
Wouldn't worry 'bout SDHelper, no great issue in leaving it in place

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

You may as well keep it if you prefer to use internet explorer. In the past, SDhelper had some conflicts with other software (such as the google toolbar), but if you aren't experiencing any trouble then it's not going to do any harm.
Your system is fine, other than that program that lead to this thread will probably give you false positives to needlessly worry about in the future. It could be more efficient with a few autostarting programs turned off, but these are just things picky techie people like me worry about
It would just be my preference to have the least number of things running, but I'm certainly not going to tell you to do things my way. Also I use Firefox, which doesn't need SDHelper in the first place anyway.0 -
Yes I use Internet Explorer but do not have google toolbar. I do not appear to be having any problems that I am aware of with it. Many thanks RussJK for all your help and advice today!0
