Yea, go for it, give the clerk at your local branch a hard time. That'll show them.

With regards to myself, time will tell, it is only whilst being in this thread that I have weighed up how wrong it all is.

Looks like I'd have won that bet then.

I don't agree with direct action against any employee who is just there to do their job. I speak as someone who has had this against them from a member of the public while doing my job and it's thoroughly unpleasant and unfair.

The best course of action would be to stop using organisations who offshore their profits if that's how you feel. I'm looking to switch from Vodafone as a result of their offshoring activities and have found an alternative supplier. Withdrawing your purchasing power (if multiplied many times over) is a potent argument. Much more so than chucking things through windows and threatening workers on minimum wage. The people in the boardrooms who make these decisions don't bat an eyelid at that because they can write those who are doing it off as extremists and idiots, not customers.

    I never suggested that.

The mere act of occupying a firm's premises, particularly when windows are being smashed or slogans being daubed, is intimidating for those who work there. I'm not for one minute suggesting you'd assault someone WO, but it isn't nice to put the little peeps in that situation, and by going to the frontline of any organisation, that's who you are likely to meet.

Time and time and time again you have failed to see the point. The vandalism of the banks is far far greater than that of the people that protest against them.

Thats even when you consider the sum total of the actions of the 'good' and 'bad' banks vrs the 'good' and 'bad' protestors.

Yes some protesters are idiots and yes some bankers are even more criminal than others. The question is which group as a whole is the real danger to our society, democracy and our economy and who really deserves to be legislated against and have their 'rights' taken away?

I agree that any individual protestor that harms a socially positive business and therefore didn't do their homework deserves to be punished but in the same breath the banks deserves to be punished far far worse because their harm has been far more systematically considered, is far more serious and will have a far more lasting anti social destructive effective on far more people.

I get a pretty good service from my bank, just wish the savings rates were a bit higher.

Tell that to the poor people that signed up for a 5% credit card and now are being told to pay 29.9% or else.

The T&Cs on credit cards are pretty clear. All the ads I saw for low starting rate credit cards also made it obvious that it was a short term teaser rate.
