So would you recommend different tax regimes for different industry sectors?0 -
So would you recommend different tax regimes for different industry sectors?
Where did that come from?
In order to answer your rather random question I would have to do quite a bit of research into all the different types of industries and form my own opinion on each. Why on earth would I want to do that?
I would however like the banks to pay the same corporation tax relative to profit as the majority of businesses in the UK. Surely that isn't a difficult concept.0 -

As far as I can tell, they do.0 -
;42404374]Rubbish, I've already given one example. Do you work for a bank by any chance?
Sorry I missed your example.
I do not work for a bank, (with the exception of the interest I pay them)
Are you saying that there is a different tax regime for banks from other businesses?
I so I did not know about it.0 -

i had one friend who took part in the occupation of topshop against the tax avoidance. she was a freelancer who had specifically set up a limited company to avoid tax. apparently that's not an issue because it's not millions of pounds that could pay for the health service (or something like that).

If you think banks are on an equal footing with other companies, watch this, its an amazing you tube vid that will open your mind, enjoy ...

Oh well if she's getting away with paying reduced NICs and hasn't been caught by IR35 I change my mind totally. Let the banks screw the country, it's only fair!
Did she play a major part in creating the recession as well? Was she bailed out by the tax payer after her business failed (or should have)?
Does she have offshore subsidiaries in tax havens? Does she claim to be highly intelligent, a 'great mind' with 'unique talent' whilst being thoroughly incompetent as well?
Looking back it's crazy to think I had an issue with banks not paying billions in tax. It's this woman we should target and get that few thousand pounds out of her!0 -
whether the bank shouldnt have been bailed out wasnt my point, my point, and the one following it abuot someone acting as a freelancer is that we all minimise the tax we pay.
When peole talk about 1% corporation tax, thats all the businesses are doing, what we do on a daily basis to maximise our money.
I use salary sacrifice to avoid paying tax...
Can we please seperate the bank bail outs from the businesses minimising tax issueNo longer an accidental landlord, still a wannabe millionaire:beer:
