i also got told today in store if it an item is bogof and you do not take the free one it will not be added to dtd because people are apparently targetting tescos to get free shopping
i said i am sure that is not true maybe they just dont see the bogof signs or forget to pick it up.;)

I have only got one when it was BOGOF but one of those time I had no choice as they only had one on the shelf

I know they say £100 limit per household, but I am not sure how they can enforce this as you only give your email address and you can obviously have more than one of those. I never use my points card as they may track via this. I would also only pay any amounts in cash also.

My interpretation is a bit different. I think, from the way the original post is worded, that they are talking about excluding items that are on offer at Tesco - so if you buy only one item from a BOGOF, then it won't count.

That would of course work two ways - they couldn't compare any items on offer, making it easier to 'hide' your DTD shopping if you bulk it out with Tesco offers.

That makes more sense - I thought they would have done this right at the start.

Hi i just used 1 of my 2 DTD vouchers for £7.22 in an Express branch and it scanned as a Clubcard coupon! Didnt have to show my receipt at all just post the voucher in the machine. Of course i chucked my receipt but no-one checked! : s
Ive also done a seperate normal online shop for my 2nd DTD but realised ive lost my receipt for this one and its the biggest DTD £18.18 :( Does the driver accept just the voucher do you think? Thanks

The driver usually takes the receipt and voucher away with him

    Re: not including BOGOFs.

I have wombled a fair few receipts, and the ones that come back with Tesco cheaper are the ones that include BOGOFs and buy two for whatever. The ones where people have done a straight shop with no BOGOFs always result in a DTD.

Tesco obviously know that people usually take advantage of these offers and rely on them to make this promotion work. They didn't reckon on the British public being as savvy as we are. Maybe they thought we were all as soft a touch as the planning committees of local councils who allow them to build new stores every day of the week in their mission to utterly destroy the British high street. I'm so glad this has backfired on them.

Went to Tesco in Hull and SEL was 75p, Asda 25p still so 50p DTD
Not sure if it's reduced nationwide

I bought this tonight and it's still £1.49 in my store.
There was however only 4 left, makes me wonder if another MSE'r is located in the same town as me!

The Grocer have a news story today entitled:

'Party is over, but what’s the damage to Tesco from DTD?'.

'As consumers fume amid a press furore, was Double the Difference just embarrassing for Tesco or does it reveal deeper problems?'

    http://www.thegrocer.co.uk/articles.aspx?page=articles&ID=217106

It's only available to subscribers of 'The Grocer' website - can anyone access it?
I suppose I'm concerned about the use of the word 'was' in the description of the story (and 'the party is over').

no problem doing it on same day, but try to calculate dtd up to £20 as that is the max per voucher.
