Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I went to cash in my 36p voucher this morning (I'm not quite as savvy as you lot when it comes to making the most of this - I'm still doing my 'normal' shop!) and had my voucher rejected because it didn't have the scissors mark down the right hand side or a code down the left - apparently this was briefed out to staff yesterday to check for as fraudulent vouchers are circulating - which don't have these on. Been back on line to check the voucher - on the screen is a scissors mark - which doesn't print - but no code, so I'm
OK, so I know my voucher's legitimate (and the time I spent discussing this (nicely, honest) in store should have made them suspect it was too, for the sake of 36p! but it leaves a nasty taste in the mouth to be seen to be cheating when I flipping well haven't.
Sent message on-line to Tesco's - but wondered if anyone else had had this happen to them?Work is not my Hobby0 -

Not that I'm complaining but i now have cupboards full of stuff that I wouldn't normally buyand i bet most people are the same,
so i think this is all a big ploy by Mr T to get rid of all his over stocks!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I bought the Fox's biscuits and my DH pointed out the Best Before only had a few days left...Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend...

Tesco has sucked me into this to such a degree that I've broken the T&C's (smacks own wrist and won't be doing so this month). Also I've bought loads of stuff I wouldn't normally, at very inflated prices. I would NEVER pay over 10 quid for a bottle of wine for example. Yeah I know I've been able to recycle the receipts but doing so only reduces the wine to 5 quid a bottle and one has to recycle the receipt a third time to get the price down to the 3 for a tenner type of level and tesco even make money at that price!! Think about it, you were still buying 3 bottles for a tenner, just over a different timeframe thats all. Very clever marketing.
I've noticed too how many of those wines were all dusty on the shelves and how some of the other items which offered good DTD were obscure items which possibly needed to be shifted. There's a price war going on too in the air freshener aisle where such things in the credit crunch are now considered as luxury items yet Mr T has managed to get us to pay over 6 quid for a jar with a bit of smelly liquid in and a few twigs sticking out the top! Top marks for marketing Tesco!
Don't get me wrong, its a good deal and I have done very well from it, but then so have tesco as they've had more real money off me this month than they usually would in 6 months. I think I've just got a little bored now though with buying packets of crisps and blocks of cheese. I've still got two vouchers and to be honest, can't be bothered to use them, although I probably will at some point over their 28 day lifespan.
Its been fun too watching people bend the rules and where their lines in the sand get drawn so to speak. I've no time for the people reusing vouchers or doctoring them, thats just plain lazy as most things illegal are. But having an email address for each of your goldfish and claiming they are not related to you so not your 'household' is in my book no different to how Tesco ramped up the price of my fave beer recently from 2.44 to 2.99 then a couple of months later claim a NEW LOW PRICE of yes, you guessed it, 2.44 or how they try to confuse us with dubious weight comparisons etc.
I will of course continue to do this, but on a much smaller scale. I wonder if Tesco half expected this and now expect the enthusiasm overall to wane over the next couple of months?
Just a few alcohol fuelled ramblings. Have a good weekend everyone....nite nite.
Glad you enjoyed the alcohol which clearly affected your ability to calculate
A 10 Tesco wine compared to a 5 Asda wine effectively becomes free when you get the DTD voucher back for 10.
This is because the 10 can be spent as usual (normal shopping) which you would need to do anyways. In this scenario, you would have spent 10 quid initial for the normal shop + the bonus of a bottle of wine. (ok, the wine is definitely not worth 10quid so say real value 5)
You are up a bottle of wine worth 5 quid!!
If you recycle... providing you do it right, everything in the 'middle' becomes free bar from some topping up (pennies/few quid max).
Anyways, lets all enjoy this price check thingy while it lasts. Hoping Mr T leave it for sometime to come though. I promise I won't break any T&Cs!:D0 -
If i scan Tesco and Asda websites at about noon today, will i be safe to go and do my shop or do they change prices throughout the day.
Thanks
