FRUIT SHOOT MY-5ORANGE &P/APPLE 4 X 200ML are (I think) £1.73 in Tesco and on offer at Asda @ 2 for £2. Am I right in thinking that if I buy 2 from Tesco my DTD would be £2.92, meaning I've effectively paid 54p for them?

    Good spot :T

its about having some sort of morales.

Never had any morales, but do have plenty of morals.

As for the rest of your post............................you really should get out more. ;)

Warning: Garnier Body Intensive 7D 250ml was £2.99 at Tesco this morning, now it's £1.50 (SEL £2.99), ASDA £1.50, so no more DTD

For those who have never seen this before. Seems rather appropriate at the moment.

  • That's ok.. I'm sure you can spare a thought for those farmers which will go out of business as you all rack up your freezers with frozen meat as tescos squeeze them some more to cope with the sudden loss in profits because im sure they wont absorb the sudden extra costs.

my post isnt about anyone being wealthy or poor, its about having some sort of morales and realising that some people here are effectively theiving, bad company or not it shouldnt be resorted to this to highlight a point to them because i doubt they would absorb the cost which then just puts more pressure on other businesses which cant afford to pay their bills or their labour costs.

and i'm not the other half, i never said i was? its about convinience not about what class i am.. the travel costs will be much higher for me to go to asda than tescos. i have money set aside each week for groceries and i budget and intend to spend the same week by week, but i wont suddenly change my whole diet just because it might be free!

& please dont keep saying tescos is more expensive.. me inputting my basic shop without checking the prices came back as tescos being cheaper than asda. if you want a cheap shop then there are places out there which are a lot cheaper than these two!

    1. Tesco are screwing the supplier anyway - whether we are in there or not - and you as a regular shopper is helping more than me that has not been in for months until this. I have 'morales' - and they include ripping of the corporate w**kers that are Tesco, in the same way they have ripped people off for years. Do you even know why they had to instigate DtD in the first place???

    2. Tesco will be paying the same price for their meat products, whether we get them for free or not.

    3. Tesco appear to be cheaper because they encourage you to buy more with their fake offers. But that results in you buying and using more stuff than you would have done if you had just bought the 1 product. The same principle is used by Thorntons when they do their ice creams - who ever has just one scoop when they look at the price scale for two and three? - Even though you know it will make you feel sick to eat more than one!

    4. My pricechecker receipts for a normal shop have about 40-50% N/A which makes a normal comparison impossible. None of the veg and fruit I bought, apart from broccoli and potatoes, have been compared. I know I have had less products for my 'spend' in my 'normal' shops when compared to my normal Asda/Aldi combo but they don't compare it all, thus get away with telling you they are cheaper. Asparagus/ Mange Tout in Tesco are more than double Aldi prices.

Frankly, I don't know why I am bothering to reply to you - but I wonder even more why you are here at all. Isn't Mumsnet' missing you?
