They are NOT allowed to do this. The receipt is yours by law!

I said that and they said that they have an email instruction to say they must take the original receipt off the customer when accepting the DTD voucher from now onwards! There were 3 different members of staff gathered around the till advising this and the person at the other end of their message system insisted they would not accept my voucher if I wanted my receipt back.....:(0 -

Hi, they kept the receipt that matched the DTD voucher - it wasn't really a problem for me since I have no intention of returning any of the products I purchased since I only bought things I wanted (wine>>) but noted that some people return products after spending the DTD voucher and wondered if this was the T response to stop returns of goods.0
