Tricia - Thanks for that link, OH works away a lot and I am always on the lookout for lunches for him. It isn't easy when he leaves home Monday and may not get home until Friday as my sandwiches go stale by then :rotfl:

Hypno - You really do sound as though you are in a good place now with a really good balance in life. Long may it continue :T

That's how I discovered them - though I was doing the time away - solved the problem for me and the non-domestic DH! Watch out for special offers as they keep for a good long time and don't need space in the fridge.

I don't know any other answer for that length of time but I used to freeze my sandwiches and put them in a coolbox with LOTS of freezer packs and take them out in order - i.e. keeping the box open for minimum time. I'm still here  so I guess I got away with it.
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

So....Friday is here, and another week has almost been gotten through :j

Managed to get through the Olympic ticketing process this morning - hopefully I have 4 tickets to one of the mens hockey sessions. I failed in my original bids for my preferred sports, as did many others, but as long as I get one "proper" event, I will be happy, and I am more than happy to go and watch the free events like the marathon and some of the other road events to get some of the atmosphere so that will do.

No money spent on coffee this morning - so that is a good start. I did buy a couple of bananas on the market for breakfast, though - so 45p spent. I'll cope! Will head to the local tesco at lunchtime for soups etc for my desk-based storecupboard.

Tonight is dinner out with the guys, which is bound to be a hoot - photos no doubt on fb tomorrow morning for those who want to keep up with my social life :p

Have a good day everyone x

Right, have been to the Tesco metro nearby and made a start on my new lunchtime challenge. Covent garden soups are on offer at £1 a go, and each does me 2 lunches normally, so I have bought 3 of those and put in the fridge at work, plus 5 tins of soup and a couple of packets of instant noodles. I also got some of those marshmallow squares things and kit kat chunky which are both on offer, and which will help reduce the cost of food when skiing over the weekend for us all.

So, £11 spent, which equates to about 2.5 days of bought sandwiches, but which actually provides me with the best part of 2 weeks' worth of easily accessible lunches, plus stuff for the weekend.

I could have done it cheaper had I been able to get to the big supermarket, as the metro doesn't have a huge range of own brand stuff, so I will look to add to the "storecupboard" (aka a bag under my desk) when I do my main shop later in the month. I also want to go to one of the Oriental supermarkets as they do some lovely noodly type instant things which you can't get in Mr Ts.

So far so good. All I need to do now is to stick to it!

    (barlcays)

a £500 overdraft debt with Barclays, which is within its agreed limit, and i pay of £20 a month. (intrest is £7 ish so only really paying back £13 a month, thats going to take ages to pay back!!!)

£5K debt letter for my OH. Origianly he says he was offered an 'opt out payment' which he took - but now, years later with no proof they are asking for the payment again!! (before i was with him, i didnt chuck the letters)

Oh, also I want to clear up my credit file, there is lots of stuff i didnt shut down years ago, and i dont know if its affecting my rating? I have looked into doing this before but i just cant seem to grasp it by reading other forums?

I think thats about it, but any help would be great and as basic as possable please, please, please, as i just dont get it.. Thank you! xxx
