    Very true.....:rotfl:

Lucielle, I need to revisit it and remind myself of the best way of doing it - It is a year or so since I did this properly and don't want to mess up!

:rotfl::rotfl: Every time I walk past a chippie I look in to see if they have Pukka Pies. I don't want one, I just find it reassuring and 'right' that they are there. Now I feel the same about your sprouts :rotfl::rotfl:

So....Monday morning, and the last day of October is upon us. The year has flown by so far and I can't quite work out how it is that November will be here tomorrow already!

Still, I am more than happy that I have survived these 10 months in the way that I have. It was always going to be a bit of an odd year I guess, with the unknown playing a major part, but its not so bad, and as I mentioned yesterday, I am not thinking too far into the future right now.

That said, I am not going to bury my head in the sand, financially - although I don't mind the "fly by the seat of your pants" stuff in some areas of my life.....I don't want to be so close to that moneywise again, and that is an area I CAN have more control over.....so need to run with that one. Savings are still building up steadily, but with unexpected costs such as flights for the children, as well as my additional and unplanned shopping, they are not increasing as quickly as I had planned!

I am, however, making a small overpayment to my mortgage still - I feel this is more of a token payment at the moment, but it is something. And it is something I can work on in due course.

My focus for November will be to revisit some of the "work" I did last year, via MG's mentors. There was much there about what is important to me, my perfect day, toxic elements of my life etc. I need to revisit to acknowledge the huge changes that I have made in my life this year, and to see if there is anything in my life that I can address in a similar way now. I may not want to be making too many specific plans for the future, but I do want to ensure that the choices I make each day are made without blinkers.

:T Well done on even getting through this year, let alone making the progress you have. I think things like the Mentors' exercises do probably need doing every year or so.

We are all prone to thinking we've got ourselves all sorted and know where we are going but there are things we can't forsee.

I did something similar about a year after I retired when I realised I had lost my way.

    I'm cheering you on!
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

So November has arrived, and that means that the mortgage payment has been made.

I have reduced my outstanding capital balance on the mortgage by £6000 this year. All things considered, I am happy with that.

Will aim to clear a bit more than that next year, but for now.....all is well :)

I'd say that was pretty damn good! Well done.
