Mortgage free by 50, go hypno! I am quite sure you will do it - and probably surprise us with some other amazing achievements before then.
Your diary moves so fast I don't even try to keep up, but I'm so happy I read a few pages and saw the excellent news of your pay rise and overpayments. You are a star and a role model for us all.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Thanks guys - nice to see you Seax
Mortgage free by 50 is a dream, but I am not going to bust a gut over it.....after all, it was a dream when there were two salaries coming in - now that there is only me it is a taller order, perhaps, but I reckon I can certainly make a difference to the term of the mortgage without compromising my lifestyle too much.

Monday already! Back to school week and a wonder as to where summer has flown to!!
Moneywise....not much to report - need to keep a close close eye on spending over the next couple of months so have been making some rough notes of what is expected to come in and, more importantly, to go out over the next few weeks as I suspect it is going to whizz by, and catch me unawares if I am not careful.
I don't want to have to undo my mortgage overpayment standing order before the first one has even been paid!!
Hope all is well with everyone - not posting so much at the moment,......busy, tired, busy, and when that lot doesn't get me, I am just busy and tired :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. So, I guess you're busy and tired then! Hope you end up less busy and tired.

I'm ok - as I posted on my fb status this morning, today is one of those days to look around and appreciate what we have. Some friends of mine were evacuated from their home in Texas on Saturday....able to only take what they could fit in the car.....as wildfires had started. Four days on, and they believe that their home has been taken. The fires continue, as do the winds, and many properties have been lost, along with all their remaining possessions. My friends are safe with other family members, but I understand lives have been lost too.
So....a reminder to us all to keep things in perspective.
Also, on a slightly different angle, a reminder to make sure we all know where those "vital" things are.....if we were given just an hour to evacuate our homes, with the possibility of losing everything that was left behind, would we truly be able to locate and pack all the things that we really couldn't replace....along with vital documents such as house insurance, passports, birth/marriage certs.....?
On a lighter note, I went to see the Inbetweeners movie last night. Hilarious (I cried laughing!) and well worth seeing....although for those of us with teenagers it was perhaps a bit close to home in places :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I am glad they are OK. Such crazy weather in the US at the moment
.
Your comment about what you could grab got me thinking. I have the business paperwork pretty much in order and the computer is backed up, but the personal stuff is all over so that will be a task coming into the winter, to get it all together into a folder next to the business stuff so if necessary we can just grab them, along with DS's teddy
Well done on the overpayment plan, sounds like a good one.One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!

I did sort out some important paperwork last week.....but will be having another go through it with a slightly different view again shortly.
Also, I am sure it is another way of telling me to continue my decluttered way of living and not to let much extra "stuff" come into my space.
Definitely food for thought.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
It really is, isn't it ... I'm sorry to hear of what happened to your friends, Hypno, and glad they're safe. More and more, I find that things simply aren't so important to me as they were, but to have everything taken away willy-nilly is a different thing altogether. An hour to evacuate ... it really makes you think.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I am pleased to say that the firefighters managed to save my friends' property. Those over the road were not so lucky. The photos that they have taken are both spectacular and horrifying at the same time......it is amazing too to see how their communities are working together, both with each other, and with the authorities.
A lot to be grateful for today.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
