I have looked in to our local Al-Anon group but it's the other side of town and without a car it would be difficult to get to. I was just so cross monday night when I got in at 10 and he had that "glazey" look. 2 1/2 bottles of wine between 4.30pm and 10pm while looking after a baby. The only think I can think of doing is giving up my job :(

    MrsR xx

I feel for you MrsR. I wouldn't leave a baby in those circumstances. Could he wait till your home before he starts drinking? His drinking is normal in your house but you need face up to this one. xxx pm me if you like. x

Well I've been posting for just over a month now and I want to say THANK YOU to everyone for the fantastic feedback and support.
This is the first forum that I have subscribed to for this kind of help, but knew that reading back through all the posts that it provided the kind of help and support I needed. No judgements, just open and honest views, so thank you all for that.

It's easy to have your own mental goals, but recording them daily, weekly etc, on this site, really helps you achieve them. I have a problem with alcohol. I know that. I think we all do (or we know someone who does) - that's why we're here. But this daily check on our lives, helps us all in some way keep an eye on it, so thanks to you all.
This wasn't meant to turn into war & peace but I wanted to highlight how such a small thing has made a huge impact on my life. Huge thanks to Shaggy and Bearacus for "taking the register" xx

    CPx

I could have written this myself - thank you Cheezy- you've said everything I wanted to. I've been lurking for quite a while but like you "came out" on here last month and it's been FANTASTIC. 2 more nights AF this week which make TADAA :jmy target of 20 for November DONE. I couldn't have done it without you all. Thank you.

That's 2 more AFD for Nov please Shaggy and 2 for this week's SNC Bearacus.
I'll go for 16 please for Dec and try my best to stick to it.
    Good luck everyone.:D
  • You had me panicked then as well Maman-everyday counts now-when it is December I can officially panick about being disorganised! 14 days af for me please Shaggy and can I put 14 for december please. I'm really sorry for your loss happyshopper. Mrs R-I really feel for you-if that is a 'normal' night for Mr R then his health must be really suffering. I would have been furious if DH drank 1 bottle of wine when caring for my two when they were babies let alone two and a half. If his drinking is going to stop you going out to work and you are considering finding a job that fits around his drinking things seem quite bad. Other people must notice-does he drive to work in the am? Big hugs-you have a lot on your plate. Keep posting-I hope things get better for you soonx

Yes, he leaves at about 7.30am. Last year he got stopped during the routine roadside checks that the police were doing going into our town centre. The reading on the test came up zero!! I couldn't belive it!! I'm sure the test must have been faulty!
And he's always ill. Only every minor stuff but there always seems to be something. I always tell him it's because of his unhealthy lifestyle. He nods in agreement and then pours a glass of wine :wall:
