Chilli jam in sausage rolls sounds delicious :) I'd never have thought of that. I usually add chopped bramley apples, apple sauce, stuffing, herbs, caramalised onions etc, whatever I have on hand.

It is really nice. It is adapted from a recipe from a magazine. You spread the pastry with chilli jam. Add some ginger and some sesame oil and finely sliced spring onions to the sausagemeat. Plait the pastry instead of just folding over, and sprinkle the top with sesame seeds. That is nice but I am not an enormous fan of the ginger thing so I took the idea of the chilli jam and got rid of the other things. Delicious!

I've just had some very nice sausage rolls with a little bit of Branston pickle inside them.
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)

I've used a Jamie Oliver recipe that included fennel seeds and it was really delicious. I know there were otehr things in thre which I can't remember right now, but the fennel worked really really well.

Ok I have just mixed the sausagemeat up with a good dollop of caramelised onion chutney, a tiny dash each of ketchup and mustard, salt and pepper. Obviously I can't taste the raw sausagemeat but it smells like a hotdog! :rotfl: let's see how it turns out...

You could fry a small ball of filling to check flavour and seasoning.
