recipe for sausage rolls, please

What about smoked paprika, garlic and fennel - chorizo type sausage rolls!
Or plenty of black pepper, sage and a smear of mustard over each bit of sausagemeat?0 -
Pretty much anything lobbed in will work. If in doubt, empty your cupboards and find 3-4 chutneys or packet mixes etc and divide the sausagemeat into 3-4 and try several flavours.
We don't know what you've got/like... but if you've got it and like it then it's a good contender to be lobbing in.
Everything from fruit (apples, apricots) through to dried herbs, chutneys and mustards/ketchups.0 -

Thank you! Off to experiment. Had a bit of a mental block when I realised my usual staples were not possible today.

My mum's sausage roll, which is the absolute best sausage roll in the world, she makes with sausage meat, onion, branston pickle and golden syrup.
I know you've no onion in, but it should be still nice with the other ingredients.Zebras rock0 -
Ok I have just mixed the sausagemeat up with a good dollop of caramelised onion chutney, a tiny dash each of ketchup and mustard, salt and pepper. Obviously I can't taste the raw sausagemeat but it smells like a hotdog! :rotfl: let's see how it turns out...0

Well the verdict is...delicious!

A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Chilli jam in sausage rolls sounds delicious
I'd never have thought of that. I usually add chopped bramley apples, apple sauce, stuffing, herbs, caramalised onions etc, whatever I have on hand.
