First of all most of the obvious shake related names are already in use and heavily trademarked, and yes there have been expensive court cases over trademark/name infringements so do very thorough research first.
Next you need to have a clear concept of what you want your business to be. I really can't stress this enough. Are you a shake store or a coffee shop primarily? If you try and target both markets you'll alienate both types of customers. I've seen so many cafes trying and chase several markets and it simply doesn't work. All the main brands that work do so because they are fairly narrowly focused both in their product range and the type of customer they target.0 -
Shake and Bake
Bean Feast
Cocoa Shack
It all depends on the theme of the shop, interior and brand you want to promote.0 -

Wimpys do still exist in both motorway services and there is one in London E3:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Agree (for a change!!!) with Paul - you need to focus more on what will bring most custom, if its school kids at lunch and after school for the shakes, its unlikely parents or "adults" would want to be surrounded by rowdy kids whilst having a quiet coffee and sandwich at lunch or as time out meeting friends for a chat. If it is more a coffee shop and for people to stop by for a sandwich, its less likely that the school kids would go in if they see it full of adults.
I understand that you need and want to maximise profit, but diluting to cover every aspect of possible trade can turn out to be a negative as you get none at all because of attempting to appeal to too many sectors.
Perhaps both could work if you offered "morning coffee 10-11, "afternoon tea 2-3.30" or some special deals to attract adults during school times, and then have the kids lunch and after school, but it would, i think, be hard to please all the people all of the time.
Once you decide for sure, the name will come more easily.
JexI will pay jexygirl the compliment of saying that she invariably writes a lot of sense!0 -

We will be selling cupcakes, coffee, milkshakes & maybe sandwiches.
I expect there to be a high level of younger people in but out of school hours so I want to make sure that during the day I still attract a wide range of ages for coffee etc.
Has anyone any good suggestions to help please?
Personally I would market more to shoppers, local business workers. School kids provide a nice little boost for your tills, but they won't keep you in business.
Is there anything about the place you are located that you could use. If something sounds cheesy I won't even step in. Some of my favourite coffee shops include: The Burgh Coffeehouse; The Fuel Bar; The City Walls; The Orchid; Katrine Cafe; The Bluebell; The Elephant [of Harry Potter fame.]0 -
Thanks for the help with the names - some really good ones in there.
Favourites so far..
Sprinkles
Swirls
Shake & Cake
Cocoa Shack
Scrumptious
There are a few cafes in town which are Louie's coffee shop, District Coffee House and Flavours - they all cater to the same clientele with cooked food, sandwiches and coffee but all have the same beech/oak tables and brown leather chairs. Obviously it works as they are still all going well BUT I wanted to offer something different with bright and vibrant colours and make your own milkshakes.0
