Using a laptop in Germany

We are going to Germany later in the year and will take our laptops.
Problem is in finding accommodation that has wireless. So, is it possible to buy a dongle for a short period only, without having to enter into a long contract.
If so, would it be better to buy it over in Germany?
Really need it for laptop as oppose to mobile phone.
Thanks for any info

Buy a PAYG SIM over there and use it in an unlocked dongle, or buy the whole package there.
If you use a UK SIM or dongle then you'll be paying huge roaming charges. No free lunch, and no free laptop
