  • called into the main branch in stockport town centre yesterday to find they had one :j. put all my coins in, counted out £11.46 then spat the rest of my money back out... out of service . had to wait 15 mins for somebody to empty it. the best thing is, the money goes straight to your account. even after the hiccup, i will gladly use again.

they're amazing, but they're always breaking down.

It's much better for banks too ... i can't understand why they dont get behind this technology more ... how long do staff spend counting change, when they could be doing something else.

You say that, but I'm curious to know what happens to the coins when they are taken in by the machine... does it also bag them in correct denominations (very clever) or does a human have to physically bag them when the machine is emptied?

It puts them into the correct dominations when they are put into the machine.

But do you mean it bags them up ready, or simply sorts them into boxes of 1ps, 2ps, and so on? I still have an image of a cashier emptying the machine and needing to bag it all up into the right amounts!
