Would you report someone you knew for benefit fraud?

Some of the people on MSE really need to get their heads OUT of the Daily Mail and into the real world. I completely agree with Pimento who posted earlier - the amount stolen from the government by people committing benefit fraud is a drop in the ocean compared to the amounts stolen by billionaires who refuse to pay income in the UK and exploit financial loopholes by declaring their incomes abroad.
Benefit cheats are not stealing from the Government… They are stealing from us. They are stealing the money that we have to pay in TAX.Trying to learn something new every day.0 -

Hear! Hear!
My point yesterday:If so many people weren't claiming a few extra quid a month than they are actually entitled to perhaps the Govt could increase state pensions or not have to increase state retirement age - so it DOES affect the OP - and YOU - and ME.
The people committing benefit fraud are stealing from every honest person.0 -
I recently found out my ex's girlfriend has been working as an "escort" for the last few years. Approx monthly wage £8000 in CASH ! Of course i've reported her for falsely claiming benefits (wtc and ctc) and non payment of tax. Why shouldn't i ? I have concrete proof of her antics, website, mobile number, "office" address, even reviews of her "services" on the internet !

Do you have her number??Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0

The government per se does not have any money of its own.......they merely have our money.
So benefit-stealing-thieving-scum [I mean that in the nicest possible way] are not stealing from the government and councils, they are stealing from you and me!!!!!!!!!!!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I would - as long as I knew for certain that she was and it wasn't a case of just believing she was.DFW Nerd Club # 13640

If she is getting £8k a month net (£96k a year, equal to around £200k gross) why the hell is she claiming benefits too!?0 -

Could be that she was eligible for benefits at one time and as the 'job' she has is invisible to Govt agencies, she thought she could get away with not telling anyone of her changed circumstances and decided to become a benefit cheat.
Most definitely one who deserves to be reported.0 -
She made the decision to claim wtc and ctc even though she earns money sleeping with men !! My ex has been with her for 9 years now (i'm convinced thats how he met her !) and since then, she has had 2 children to him, one is now 3, the other 18 months old, so she's claimed ctc whilst she's been "working" A review of her on the internet says that she's been off the "scene" for a while but that this person is glad she's back !!! She was "off the scene" when she was pregnant. She works with her sister from an apartment in Leeds, my son knows where the apartment is. I also have her bank statements showing the wtc anc ctc credits and loads of cash deposits. She left my ex briefly last year and he asked me to keep these statements "safe" in case he needed them if she didn't come back, (he wanted to apply for custody of the children) she did come back but i still have the statements !!
So - wee pilsbury, i have no doubt whatsoever !!!0 -
