I have inside info :) all customers that signed up after 31/12/04 are on a price promise till 1/7/05. just because the letters had 1/3/05 as the date of the price change the call centre dont start selling the new prices till 4/4/05 so any customers that sign up before 3/4/05 will have the old prices and a price promise till 1/7/05

Are you suggesting that I'll get stung with higher charges after July?

Look at the prices I've been quoted - electricity@ 6.6680p/kWh and gas @1.5910p/kWh. They are neither as low as sergeant121's originals (5.2p/kWh and 1.515p/kWh) nor as high as the new figures quoted (6.52p/kWh and 1.65p/kWh)

    Where do I stand?

    Err?

I went through four comparison sites the other day - Atlantic appeared to be the 'best' as option as a duel fuel tarrif with direct debit on three of the four of them.

ok. if you sign up to atlantic today then you can go on to the internet (direct) price of s/c 8.50 and unit rate 6.35... that price will be held until 1/7/05 after that your new price will s/c of 8.73 and a unit rate of 7.36. i hope that helps

Well, thanks but... Is this the dual fuel rate? Shouldn't there be be a separate charge for the electricity and gas? Why are the prices I've seen quoted (to me) and to sergeant121 (and whatever you are quoting) so different?

I can see why people don't bother to switch. It sometimes appears that there is a conspiracy to confuse and contradict.

The letter I received (dated 1 March) says the new prices are effective from 1 March. I thought they had to give you 28 days notice to increase prices?.
