Virtually all insurers treat windscreen replacement as a claim. They even treat windscreen repair (such as stone chips) as a claim.
I've had a few windscreen repairs in two decades of motoring and they have NEVER affected my NCD at all.
I have always avoided the cheaper end of the insurance market, so perhaps that is why.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.

Every insurer I've been with (Churchill (standalone and through Nationwide), Direct Line, Hastings Direct) have threated Windscreen Replacement as a claim but repair not.0 -
On their policy wording, it says that a claim under Section D will not affect NCD. So they are either lying, someone has incorrectly put the claim as a wrong type or the actual claim falls under a different section (e.g, as part of an accident).

It actually says that a claim (Section D) will not "reduce" your NCD!
So the only one lying is you, scooby, by telling us it says "it will not affect NCD"!
In fact if you claim for a windscreen replacement, you get no NCD added for the year in which the claim is made! (As ppointed out in the OP!)0 -

My apologies - I did spot that after I posted it but forgot to correct - a mistake but not a lie.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

It may not affect your NCD but it is a claim. My last windscreen repair didnt reduce my NCD but it does have to be declared as a claim and the premium went up because of it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
