It got a little wet as a result of bottle leaking in bag.

The Call & texts work fine.

It can find the WIFI network but it won't connect to it. I reset back to factory settings and it's still not worked.

I think it may have connected very briefly as when I reset to Factory Settings the date was January 1980 @ 7pm. A little later it ad corrected itself to the correct date (today) and exact time. im guessing it must have done this via the Internet.

The T-mobile 3G settings have been wiped/reset so it must have connected via WIFI to enable auto correct date & time.

I've put the new T-mobile 3G settings in. It is awfully slow via 3G aswell now (and Im on wbe'n'walk plus which can be HSPDA+). Even the 3G connection can be intermittent. Sometimes that fails also

  • GSM networks broadcast the date and time so it is more likely your phone has picked the time and date up from the network rather than wifi.

Send a text to 34963 with the word INTERNET, it won't cost you anything and updates your phone to the correct GPRS/3G settings.

As to wifi you need to review your settings, make sure your connection settings on the phone match the router (correct type of encryption, key, if it's a hidden network you need the correct network SSID, does the router have MAC filtering enabled?)

I've got the T-mobile 3G settings now but it's still been slower than usual.

As for the router, it use to be able to connect to it previously. WEP key is correct. It 'remembers' the key. It even gets the MAC address

I've googled to find that this problem with wifi is common... but cant seem to find a fix
  • WEP is a very insecure network measure, WPA is far more secure. WEP can be hacked into easily by anyone who is half determined. Why not try switching over to WPA and seeing if that helps the problem? (You will need to reconfigure anything connecting to your network with the WPA settings of course, but this has to be worth it for the security you gain).

Is there any way the phone could have been damaged by liquid?

I would delete any WiFi settings and find them again and set up .
Factory reset if not work then its a follow on to your first sentence = a service centre and hope it dont cost to much .

I am suspecting the liquid/moisture but a little bewildered as to the fact that the hardware/software is obviously able to pick up a wireless signal and identify the network, just not connect to it
