I will take your word for the first part of your post.
However the second part (quoted above) is wrong IMHO.
How would it be any more difficult having an extra "customer retentions tariff" added to the hundreds of tariffs that they already offer?
Or just adding a "loyalty" discount to one of their current tariffs?

you need to compare the product and your usage in kw not the DD amounts.
Do you want cheaper prices for a year or do you want to fix your prices until 2014 plus getting your boiler serviced every year for free

ive been getting the same calls for over a week now. saying that they can beat my tarrif with eon and give me a guarenteed one years cheaper rate. The thing which made me a bit suspicious is that they asked me for my bank details pretty much straight away.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Our Platinum Fixed Tariff includes a monthly payment of £10.00 which goes towards the boiler maintenance cover. From what you have posted, it sounds like you have been provided within incorrect information regarding the savings that could be made and we can certainly investigate this for you. If you have been mis-sold a tariff then we can process an Erroneous Transfer which will return your supply to EON.

I received this same sales pitch yesterday evening.
I was told amongst many other dubious things,that there was free boiler cover for the length of the contract. When I asked what such cover was worth,I was told £150 per year.
I was also told EDF had put up the prices for my Dual Fuel. If you follow any of my postings you will know this assertion is entirely innacurate.
The 2014 Fix is not in any way economical for me,even after factoring in the boiler cover. The call must have taken half an hour before the agent got the message.
I think more training is required before they start conning people with innacurate and inconsistent sales pitches.0
